The 21st China TCDC Training Course 
on Integrated Fish Farming
April 10-July 8, 2001

Background 

The course is organized in order to promote aquaculture development in the developing countries. The objective of the course is to transfer the techniques and experience of Chinese integrated fish farming, to endow the participants with specialized knowledge of relevant subjects and practical techniques used in field through theoretical studies and practical training during the course. Multi-disciplinary in nature, it will cover all the essential technical aspects of integrated fish farming, and will be very much practical-oriented so as to provide participants with on-hand experiences. In addition, the course will also deal with following issues: (1) successful integration of fish farming and other farm activities; and (2) establishment of sustainable aquaculture systems with low input and high output which can achieve the optimal ecological benefit.

Induced fish breeding technology and hatchery operation and management;

Fish nutrition and feeding technology in integrated fish farming system;
5.     Culture of fish fry and fingerlings;
6.    Culture techniques and models for marketable fish in polyculture system;
7.     Prevention and control of fish diseases;
8.     Principles of Chinese integrated fish farming practices;

Models of Chinese integrated fish farming and their economic efficiency; 
10.     Animal raising and crops production on integrated fish farm;

Planning and management of integrated fish farming;
12.  
Marine aquaculture;
13.   Culture of other aquatic animals with high economic value;

14. Pen and cage culture in inland lake and reservoir.
