The 30th Anniversary on International Training on Aquaculture

First Announcement
2008 witnesses the 30th anniversary
of the foundation of the Asian-Pacific Regional
Research and Training Center for Integrated Fish Farming and the
Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the
Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. ¡°The 30th
Anniversary on International Training on Aquaculture¡± will be held in
Wuxi, Jiangsu Province on 1st November, 2008, aimed at enhancing the
role of international exchange program and education in aquaculture and fishery
management, reviewing the achievements made by trainees in their
own countries, and promoting advanced aquaculture and fishery management
technologies.
As an important part of
aquaculture, integrated fish farming, originating in China and spreading widely,
has been developing quickly in the world. It is now playing a more significant
role in the rural development and the poverty alleviation. In view that
aquaculture has become an important approach to fishery development, the
anniversary celebration will organize a seminar on international training and
education on Aquaculture and sustainable fishery development. The themes of the
seminar are: sharing and exchanging experiences in international training and
education, promoting the integrated fish farming technology, encouraging the
adoption of sustainable aquaculture and fishery development apporach,
accelerating the international exchange and education program, ensuring the
safety and quality production efficiency. Details of the seminar are as follows.

The seminar organized by the
Asian-Pacific Regional Research and Training Center
for Integrated Fish Farming and the
Freshwater Fisheries Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Fishery
Sciences, with support from the Ministry of Agriculture of People¡¯s Republic
of China and co-organized by the Network of Aquaculture Centers in Asia-Pacific.

(including the international travel and accommodation) for the outstanding
trainees to attend the 30th anniversary in Wuxi, the outstanding trainees should
